This rare and little-known piece is marked by a particularly intricate construction, made possible by the choice of timber and a manufacturing technique that borrows processes from naval architecture.
Born in Venice in 1935, Tobia Scarpa, is a celebrated architect and designer whose work is defined by a vision that transcends convention. Alongside partner First designed in 1963, Seki-Han is a masterpiece that reflects Scarpa’s refined sensibility. Formed by two sculptural wooden blades enclosing a tubular light source, its intricate construction draws on naval architecture and Scarpa’s deep knowledge of woodworking.Afra Bianchin, he played a fundamental role in the Flos story, with early creations such as Fantasma (1960), Foglio (1966), Biagio (1968) and Ariette (1973) marking the beginning of an extensive body of work distinguished by original and enduring forms. In 2008, he received the ADI Compasso d’Oro for Lifetime Achievement.
